Focus Group Camera Club Roundtable

Roundtable is part of our regular meeting and takes place at the end of the meeting.

The purpose of Roundtable is to provide our members an opportunity to share images and information. Roundtable provides the opportunity for members to show some of their work and tell the ‘back story’ about images presented. In addition members may wish to discuss photo problems, show new gear, introduce new shooting locations, discuss technique as well as post processing approaches and problems.

Normally members submit between 5 to 10 images, but it could be just one. Members may ask for critique or suggestions about the images presented if they so choose.  However, critique is not expected part of the process of sharing images at Roundtable.

Critiques are scheduled as Special Events one or two times per year and involve the use of outside photographic experts to provide the critique of images submitted by the members for this specific purpose.

The subject is up to the member - one subject or many are acceptable.   Often members select what they feel are a few of their best images from their recent shooting experiences.

Members may choose to show images from a photo project they are working on, or what they see as their best images from a trip they took.  At one meeting a member showed images processed with a new plug in he was experimenting with in Photoshop, and another showed what he could achieve with HDR processing.

On occasion members have shown images they may want to place in one of our Exhibits in order to see if they get a positive reaction to the image. Clearly members have many and varied reason for participating in Roundtable.  Some members do so frequently and others not at all.

The format can be prints or digital images - even slides.  If one plans to show slides we need to know in advance so we can bring the club slide projector.  It has been some time since we have used it since so many have gone digital.

If one plans to show digital images they should send them to the FGCCRoundtable e-mail address by Monday evening so they can be loaded onto the Club Computer.  The e-mail address is currently:

fgccroundtable@gmail.com

Instructions for preparing images to be show on our club projector are detailed on the Focus Group Web Site in the "Information" section under the heading "Projection Submissions"
